It’s Time to Pick…20 times! The 20th Annual Pickin’ In The Pines music festival will take place in Flagstaff, Arizona this September 18th when the 3-day event kicks off at the outdoor Pepsi Amphitheatre at Fort Tuthill County Park. High-energy bluegrass/folk and more by The Infamous Stringdusters, Blue Highway, Kitchen Dwellers, Mountain Grass Unit, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and many more performers will be performing on stages throughout the 3 days of the festival (September 18-20, 2026) put on by the nonprofit Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music.

The Infamous Stringdusters

The Infamous Stringdusters will perform a special performance this weekend at Pickin’ In The Pines. As the headlining progressive bluegrass band, they will play a mix of the sophisticated grooves and beautiful vocal harmonies that they are known for as well as some of the best individual pickin’ in the business. Travis Book (bass), andy Falco (guitar), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), andy Hall (Dobro) and Chris Pandolfi (banjo) have been based in Nashville since 2006.

They have transformed bluegrass into the jamgrass type of music that has the biggest following today. They will play popular songs like “Fork in the Road” and the title track to their 2018 Grammy Award winning album for Best Bluegrass Album, “Laws of Gravity” as well as songs from their latest release “20/20” (2026) which is their 20th year of touring and recording together and marks the follow-up to “Toward The Fray” (2024). In 2007 they won several IBMA Awards including for Emerging Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. They have also received several Grammy nominations in 2021 and 2023. 

Blue Highway

Blue Highway Blue Highway is a highly-acclaimed bluegrass band who deliver powerful performances with beautiful harmonies and the ultimate in traditional bluegrass picking. 

Kitchen Dwellers

The young band Kitchen Dwellers will put on an high-energy show with their mix of bluegrass, folk and other stringed influences that are sure to satisfy fans of both traditional bluegrass and more progressive bluegrass performances.

Mason Via – Young Singer/Songwriter performing acoustic/folk songs. Wood Box Heroes – Bluegrass/Folk music performances. East Nash Grass – Combining Bluegrass with elements of Folk and performing wildly entertaining. The Sentimental Gentlemen – Men performing Bluegrass/Folk songs, songs that pull at the heart strings. Bronwyn Keith-Hynes – Elegant and beautiful fiddle playing of traditional bluegrass and folk songs. Dom Flemons & the Traveling Wildfires – A wide ranging, roots-based singer/songwriter and his ensemble of fine musicians performing acoustic/folk music. Tony Trischka’s Earl Jam featuring Michael Daves – Paying tribute to some of the greatest banjo pickers by performing their songs in a lively jam. Mountain Grass Unit – Intense Bluegrass picking by 3 experienced performers. Woody Platt & the Bluegrass Gentlemen – Traditional Bluegrass song performances by 4 experienced pickers.

Pepsi Amphitheatre at Fort Tuthill Overview

Pepsi Amphitheatre is a premier venue located within the beautiful grounds of Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Easily accessible from Highway 89A or from I-17 off of exit 337, Pepsi Amphitheatre is an impressive outdoor venue with a large grassy lawn where patrons can enjoy comfortable lawn seating in over 500 covered seats surrounded by towering ponderosa pines. In addition to general admission lawn seating, there are also several reserved seating sections to choose from and Pepsi Amphitheatre is a fully handicapped accessible venue with ADA seating available.

With a variety of food vendors known as “food trucks” as well as convention style concession stands will be set up throughout the grounds. All of the vendors will accept cash as well as debit and credit cards. Security will be on grounds for the event and all patrons will be subject to search prior to entry. Transportation Information

The first lot is a general admission lot with presale parking for $8 per car and day of show parking for $8 per car. The second lot is a Premium lot, a bit closer to the amphitheater, with presale in this lot for $20 per car and day of show charge for $20 per car as well. In the premium lot, they reserve a block of spaces for ADA and handicapped patrons. For Flagstaff residents there is street parking and also municipal lots that are within walking distance to Fort Tuthill County Park.
